At the recent Annual General Meeting of the Manitoba's Portage la Prairie Royal Canadian Legion, funeral director Jeff Dubois, owner of McKenzie's Funeral Chapel, was recognized with the Legion Friendship Award.

The award acknowledges a local business or individual for their contributions to the Legion.  This year the board of executives at the Legion's Branch #65 nominated Dubois for the award, recognizing his volunteer work with both the Legion and the No Stone Left Alone Foundation.

Dubois, who has been a Legion member for more than 20 years, was surprised by the recognition.  He says he believes in community service and enjoys being able to assist where needed.
